Academic

Research ideas, theses, a dataset to test them and a framework to teach.

Research. Does the model hold up? Studies to test Eleatic Power as a measure, and the intuitions it suggests, are published here as research questions, each with a possible test, open to anyone who wants to take them up: a thesis, a term paper, a study that adds empirical data. The living dataset – Eleatic Power, the four capacities, the indicators and the history of every brand – is the material to test them with.

Teaching. For instructors who adopt the book: a class code for your course, live brand cases in class with Assess, Play and the Machine’s Mirror protocols, and chapter slides in preparation.

Research Ideas

Does the model hold up?

Studies on the operational robustness of Eleatic Power, then the intuitions the model suggests. None is peer-reviewed: they are starting points, published to be tested. Accepted proposals from readers and researchers appear with the proposer’s name.

HOW TO TAKE ONE UP · 1

Choose the question

Each idea states a research question and a possible test. Open it to read the full text, the background, the references and the results already deposited.

HOW TO TAKE ONE UP · 2

Work on the living dataset

Brand cards, the Observatory and each brand’s history are the first empirical layer; the Play and Explore tools are the second.

Deposit results and data

Corpora, surveys, panels, field evidence: what the model makes visible becomes a finding only when the data confirm or contradict it. Results are listed under the idea only together with their dataset – depositing the data is the condition for being listed – and are credited to whoever tested it. Deposit results and data →

If you are interested in using the database for research – a thesis, a paper, a comparative study – write to [email protected] with the project and the institution.

Take part

Deposit results, propose ideas.

Both need an account, so that we can write back. Published entries carry your name; you keep every right on your work.

Deposit your results and data

Tested one of the ideas – in a thesis, a paper, a study? Deposit the results here. The data file is required: a result is listed under its idea only together with the dataset that produced it (CSV, XLSX, JSON, ZIP, PDF, SAV, DTA, RDS – up to 5 MB, zip larger files). Once approved, the entry appears with your name and the file open to download; you keep every right on your work.

Submissions are tied to an account, so that we can write back. Log in / Create account →

Propose an idea

A hypothesis the model makes visible, a counter-intuition against a classic construct, a test that the living dataset makes possible. Keep it short; we will edit with you before publishing. Published ideas carry your name and affiliation.

Teaching

The framework in the classroom.

Live brand cases instead of static slides: students name a brand, the class reads its profile and bends it together.

Classes

A class code for your course

Email us with the course, the university and the number of students: you receive a class code. Students enter it when they create their account in My Space, and the class receives its study credits for brand cards and the Observatory.

In class

Assess, Play, Machine’s Mirror

Run Assess on a brand your students choose, compare it in the Observatory, move its capacities in Play, and use the twelve Machine’s Mirror protocols as the applied exercise of each chapter.

Materials in preparation

Slides & teaching notes

Chapter-by-chapter decks, figures, discussion questions and exercises, reserved to instructors who adopt the book. They will be announced here; instructors with a class code are notified first.
